Conroy announces delay, filter to go ahead
Jul 9 2010, 2:27Communications Minister Stephen Conroy today announced that the filter will be delayed for 12 months to complete a review of the “RC” category of prohibited content, but will still go ahead following that review. I'm sure this is just an election stunt to remove the policy from the eyes of the upcoming election. It more then likely wont be delayed by 12 months and implemented shortly after if the labour government wins the election.
Aside from the fantastic job EFA and Open Internet are doing to stop this from happening, my backup plan is using vpnsecure.me encrypting my internet from the prying eyes of the government.
