Have you signed the EFA petition?
Feb 16 2010, 2:36Last month Electronic Frontiers Australia launched a petition against the Government’s mandatory Internet filtering policy that will be presented to the Senate of the Parliament of Australia.
Despite rumours to the contrary, the Senate (unlike the House of Representatives) does accept e-petitions and this petition complies with the Senate Standing Orders 69, 70 and 71, as well as the Guide to Senate Procedure No 21. The petition was drafted following consultations with the Petitions Officer of the Senate and Senator Scott Ludlam.
So far over 10,000 people have signed the online petition, and many more have signed the offline petition. It is not too late for you sign the petition, and you can do so here.
We are also looking for volunteers to collect printed signatures. If you would like to gather signatures for the petition, please download and read the Senate Internet Censorship Petition – Instructions before printing the Senate Internet Censorship Petition.

stop this censorship stupidity
No Internet Filtering!
Has anyone considered that this law my be unconstitutional? According to the recent fiasco in SA the AG received "advice that his laws might be unconstitutional" see http://www.fiveaa.com.au/Audio_Attorney-General-b…
And also, has anyone researched legislation? see http://www.austlii.edu.au/cgi-bin/sinodisp/au/leg…
I am not sure that this is enacted, however how can they introduce a bill into parliament, and then seek to reneg on the very promises that bill makes to protecting our "implied right" to free speech?
this is ridiculous.
